After much consideration, we have made the decision to postpone the DSO’s January 2022 Florida Tour in light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country.

Protecting the health and safety of our patrons, musicians, staff, and stage crew has been our top priority since the start of the pandemic. While we are disappointed that we will not be able to perform for community partners and audiences in West Palm Beach, Miami, Gainesville, and Sarasota, we know that this is the responsible decision for the orchestra at this time. We look forward to touring Florida again in a future season and will present our tour program in Detroit as scheduled on Wednesday, January 12.

We remain humbled by the generosity of our tour sponsors and are grateful for their partnership as we navigate these ever-changing circumstances. Thank you to Florida Tour presenters The Marjorie S. Fisher Fund and the William Davidson Foundation; and to those who provided additional support: Penny & Harold Blumenstein, Burns & Wilcox Ltd, The Clinton Family Fund, Joanne Danto & Arnold Weingarden, The John S. & James L. Knight Foundation, PNC Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Ellie & Bernard Robertson, Martie & Bob Sachs, and Nancy & Arn Tellem.

Thank you,
