Yue Bao and Pablo Ferrández make their DSO debuts in a spirited program including Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony, Haydn’s C Major Cello Concerto, and Still's Danzas de Panama. Also featured is the Second Symphony of Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a prodigiously talented contemporary of both Mozart and Haydn, who was also a virtuoso violinist, conductor, and the most renowned fencer in France.
