Detroit, (December 16, 2020) – Today, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announced changes to this week’s schedule of DSO Digital Concerts.
- Thursday, December 17 at 8:00 p.m. – Music Director Jader Bignamini conducts the DSO in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”, R. Strauss’s Concerto for Oboe and Small Orchestra in D major with Principal Oboe Alexander Kinmonth, and Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst. This program was originally scheduled for last Friday but was postponed out of an abundance of caution due to a musician coming in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. That musician has subsequently tested negative.
- Saturday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. – Thomas Wilkins conducts the DSO in its annual Home for the Holidays program of carols and classic holiday music with guest vocalist Kisma Jordan. These concerts, originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday evening this week will be combined into one program to be livestreamed on Saturday night.
