- Changes impact concerts originally scheduled for July 27-July 29
Detroit, (July 22, 2021) – The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) today announced schedule changes for the four events originally taking place between July 27 and July 29. As previously shared, recent extreme weather and rain caused water damage at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, largely confined to the basement levels. The DSO has closed the building to the public until further notice out of an abundance of caution while assessments and repairs are made. As a result, the DSO must make changes to next week’s performance schedule to accommodate events in The Cube and outdoors at the DSO’s Sosnick Courtyard (51 Parsons Street). See below for full event updates.
Summer Sessions: DSO Outdoors featuring the Great Waters Quartet, originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 28 at 7 p.m., will now take place Tuesday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at Sosnick Courtyard.
The Jazz Gallery All-Stars featuring the music of Roy Hargrove remains on the originally scheduled date of Wednesday, July 28 at 8 p.m., but will now be held at Sosnick Courtyard rather than The Cube.
Yoga + Live Music, originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 27 at 7 p.m., will now take place Thursday, July 29 at 7 p.m.at Sosnick Courtyard.
Sunny Jain’s Wild Wild East, originally scheduled for Thursday, July 29 at 7 p.m., will now take place Friday, August 27 at 7 p.m. at Sosnick Courtyard.
Current ticketholders will be automatically transferred to the new event dates. Those with questions may contact the Box Office at tickets@dso.org or 313.576.5111, Monday - Friday, 11 AM - 5 PM. Patrons should follow dso.org and social media for additional updates.
