The DSO’s Family Concerts and Tiny Tots Series invite young listeners to experience the joy of live music in ways made just for them — playful, imaginative, and full of discovery. These concerts spark curiosity, creativity, and connection, and have become a favorite among families looking for live music experiences in Detroit.

Free Family-Friendly Activities (9:30—11 AM)

Kick off your day with hands-on fun, including instrument try-outs, crafts, and more! It’s the perfect way to ignite your family’s musical adventure.

Tiny Tots (ages 2–6) • 10 AM in The Cube

Hear fun, imaginative, and interactive performances designed for your littlest music lovers. It’s a playful introduction to live music that celebrates every moment of childhood wonder in the stress-free environment of The Cube where singing, dancing, and movement are encouraged —all before naptime!

Young People’s Family Concerts (ages 6+) • 11 AM in Orchestra Hall

Get to know the DSO and discover all the orchestra can do! These hour-long concerts introduce children to classical music through dance, theater, storytelling, and video.
