2022 Middle School Honor Days

Honor Orchestra: Monday, March 21, 2022 

Detroit Symphony Orchestra Middle School Honor Days are available to 6th through 8th grade band and orchestra students by invitation only. Nomination forms will be available in Fall 2021.

Sample Schedule
8:30 am: Check-In
9:00 am: Rehearsal 1
12:00 pm: Lunch (provided by student)
1:00 pm: Rehearsal 2
4:00 pm: Transition
4:15 pm: Performance by DSO musicians
5:00 pm: Pizza party!
5:45 pm: Change into concert attire
6:15 pm: Call time
6:30 pm: Concert (free and open to the public)

All students will receive a physical folder and paper music when they arrive to Orchestra Hall. Accepted students will be notified of their part assignments and be given access to practice parts prior to the event.

The concert will take place at the Max & Marjorie M. Fisher Music Center located at 3711 Woodward Ave. Detroit MI 48201. Students will perform on historic Orchestra Hall stage and is free and open to the public.
