CYE Concerto Competition

CYE is proud to offer our musicians the chance to perform as soloists on the historic Orchestra Hall stage! Auditions take place in January and the Competition’s winner performs during the last Wu Family Academy Showcase Concert of the season. Registration for the 2019 Civic Youth Ensembles Concerto Competition has officially closed. Check back in Fall 2019 to register for next season’s competition.

Repertoire Recommendations

A great resource for potential repertoire selections is the Maryland Music Education Association solo and ensemble list. Click here to view the list; string players should navigate to the String Lists section and woodwind, brass, and percussion players should navigate to the Band Lists section.

We also recommend consulting with your private lesson instructor (if applicable) or school music teacher to help select an appropriate piece.
