Ethan Allen joined the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as Librarian in June 2005. A native of Riverview, Michigan, Allen attended Eastern Michigan University where he studied percussion with Whitney Prince and John Dorsey and received a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance in 1999. He received a Master's degree in Library and Information Science with a certificate in Archival Administration from Detroit’s Wayne State University in 2004. Additionally, he has served as Music Librarian for the Music Department at Wayne State University and as Principal Percussion and Librarian for the Warren Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of famed music library reference author David Daniels.
