Xian Zhang Conducts Mozart & Ogonek
Streaming: Saturday, May 28, at 8:00pm EDT
This performance will be available on-demand via dso.org/replay soon after the livestream has finished.
Violinist Karen Gomyo returns to the DSO to perform Elizabeth Ogonek’s 2017 work "In Silence," inspired by the music of Baroque composer Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, known as one of the most forward-thinking composers of his time, who used extended techniques for strings that would not become standard until the 20th century. We also hear one of the famed late symphonies of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the majestic Symphony No. 39.
Please note: Due to an unexpected complication with the music for Chevalier de Saint-Georges’ Violin Concerto No. 1, it will not be performed this week.
