The Music Continues

We invite you to join us as we launch this new, historic fall season – one unlike any other you’ve experienced with the DSO. We’ll explore an incredible variety of music from a diverse collection of composers, featuring DSO musicians, new Music Director Jader Bignamini, and visits from guest artists and conductors. Highlights include:

  • Chamber orchestra and chamber ensemble music by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart and more
  • World premieres by Tyshawn Sorey and Nokuthula Ngwenyama highlight ten works by Black composers
  • Special guests, including Jennifer Koh, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and Donald Runnicles

  • There is no risk! You have several flexible ticket options that allow you to come back to enjoy the music when you’d like.
  • We’ll save your seats. Maintaining your subscription guarantees your seats for the 2021-2022 season.
  • You maintain your investment in the DSO. We are so grateful for your support to #KeepTheMusicPlaying

We are excited to offer a series of DSO Digital Concerts featuring three weeks led by our new Music Director Jader Bignamini, classical chamber music, PNC Pops performances, and more! These will be streamed LIVE on dso.org on Thursday and Friday evenings. Subscribers and donors contributing $125 or more will receive free access to stream these concerts. Individual tickets will also be available for purchase.

The full schedule of DSO Digital Concerts will be announced at the end of August.

We cannot wait to return to the stage to perform for you again. As soon as permitted by federal and state public health and safety guidelines, a limited number of tickets may be available for in-person attendance. Should this be possible, current DSO Subscribers will receive priority access to those tickets.

At this point, the rest of the season after January 1, 2021 remains as originally scheduled. Should there be any changes to these plans, we will let you know immediately and will always provide options for your tickets.

As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our patrons and performers. We are fully committed to following safety guidelines issued by the State of Michigan and the CDC.

We've been working tirelessly to implement new health and safety measures inside the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, Orchestra Hall, and The Cube. These include electronic ticketing, contactless points of entry, greater spacing for seated patrons, regular disinfecting, and more.

Yes! DSO Digital Concerts will be streamed live through our website. As a DSO Subscriber, you will have exclusive access through your account on dso.org.

Frequently Asked Questions—TROUBLESHOOTING

DSO Digital Concerts is a series of online performances by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra streamed live and on-demand for up to two weeks. These livestreams can be accessed by mobile devices, computers, and smart TVs. Current DSO subscribers and donors of $125 or more receive unlimited, complimentary access. Tickets to individual livestreams are also available for purchase. 

Visit the Recover Password page and enter the email address associated with your dso.org account. We will email you a link to create a new password. If you don’t receive an email, be sure to check your Spam or Junk folders. 

Yes, all DSO Digital Concerts viewers will need to have an active dso.org account, which requires an email address and password. 

DSO subscriber and donor households will be able to access these concerts using the email address that is associated with their subscription purchase or donation. If you are not sure what email address is connected, please contact the DSO Box Office at digitaltickets@dso.org or by phone: 313.576.5111, Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. 

If you are purchasing an individual ticket, you will be prompted to create or log into your account when completing your transaction. 

If your internet connection is working, start by making adjustments to your internet browser: 

  1. Refresh the page 
  2. If you are having problems in your browser (such as Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox), try a different one.  
  3. Clear your browser cache and/or close and restart your browser. 
  4. Close other tabs or windows. 
  5. Check to be sure that you have installed the most current updates of your software. 
  6. Ensure your browser’s zoom is set to 100% (the actual size).

No, concerts are only available for live-streaming and on-demand replay the following two weeks through dso.org. 

Yes. You can access it through the internet browser on your mobile device. 

Yes. If you are using Chromecast, you can cast to your TV or screen mirror using mirroring/Airplay from your Apple computer or tablet.

You can also connect your computer to your television through methods such as Bluetooth or an HDMI cable.

Note that while we are trained and ready with resources to help you, we are not quite as versed in general technology troubleshooting as GeekSquad or Apple Support. If you are experiencing problems with your internet connection or your devices, we recommend contacting the customer support for your service provider or device manufacturer. 

So that we can best assist you, please provide as much detail about your issue as you can. Be ready to let us know what device you’re using to access DSO Digital Concerts, what type of internet connection and web browser(s) you are using.

You should have: 

  • An internet connection with a recommended minimum download speed of 3 mbps to view HD video content. The minimum required to view in SD is 500 kbps. 
  • A desktop or laptop computer running either: Microsoft Windows 7 or higher) or Mac Sierra (10.12.6) – OR – 
  • A mobile device running Android (Lollipop) version 5.0+ or Apple iOS version 9.3.5+. 
  • A desktop internet browser such as Chrome 30+ (has automatic updates), Firefox 27+ (has automatic updates), Microsoft Edge, or Safari 9+. We recommend updating your preferred browser to the latest available version for the best and safest viewing experience. 

Fast download speeds will ensure the best streaming experience. At minimum, you will need a download speed of 500 kbps. A download speed of 7 mbps or higher is optimal to view the concert in HD.

Test your internet connection speed at speedtest.net.

Please be sure that your computer or device meets the requirements above, that your internet connection and speed are optimal, and that your browser software is up to date. Try refreshing the browser, using a different browser, or restarting your device.

There is a limit of one email address per household for each subscription, ticket purchase, or donation. The email address you provided during your transaction is the one that is automatically connected to your DSO Digital Concerts access.

If you would like to get access to DSO Digital Concerts using another email address, you may either purchase individual tickets for $12 each or contact the DSO Box Office.
