The Max is located in Midtown Detroit, on Woodward Avenue one block north of Mack Avenue/MLK Boulevard. DSO’s Sosnick Courtyard is located directly next to Orchestra Place Parking Deck on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Parsons Street. To get into the courtyard, you can use the entrance off of Parsons Street.

The DSO Parking Deck is located at 81 Parsons Street. Self-parking in the garage costs $12 for most concerts (credit card payment only). Accessible parking is available on the first and second floors of the garage. Note that accessible parking spaces go quickly, so we recommend arriving early!

DSO’s Sosnick Courtyard is located directly next to the parking deck on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Parsons Street. To get into the courtyard, you can use the entrance off of Parsons Street.

Metered street parking is available on Cass Avenue and several cross streets near The Max. There are pay stations on every block of each metered parking zone, and you can also pay using the Park Detroit website or app.

Nearby parking garages not operated by the DSO include Wayne State University Structure #7 (at John R and Mack, adjacent to Whole Foods Market) and Woodward Gardens (at Woodward and St. Alexandrine, adjacent to The Red Hook).

Patron Valet: Please enter Parsons Street from Cass Avenue; the drop-off point is located near Sosnick Courtyard. Pricing is $25 per vehicle (payable by credit card only). You will also receive an option to prepay for valet parking services for $20 upon checkout when you purchase your tickets.

Donor Valet (for eligible donors): Please enter the alley behind the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center from Selden Street; for drop-off and entry through the Stage Door. Please pick up your car from valet within 60 minutes of the end of a performance. DSO Courtesy Shuttle: Graciously donated by Lee and Floy Barthel, the DSO offers a golf cart-style courtesy shuttle for patrons who would like extra assistance entering The Max. The shuttle pick-up point is located on Parsons Street, near Sosnick Courtyard. This shuttle is available for all DSO patrons who need assistance as well as patrons who have paid for valet services, with priority given to those in need of assistance.

Because the QLine tracks occupy the traffic lane closest to the sidewalk in front of The Max, drop-off and pick-up is not permitted on Woodward Avenue. Please use the designated drop-off point on Selden Street between Woodward and Cass; the best address to search for the drop-off point is 20 Selden Street. This is also the preferred address to use for rideshare arrivals and departures.

The Max is located one block north of the Mack Avenue/MLK Boulevard QLine stop. Learn more about riding the QLine at qlinedetroit.com.

Several DDOT bus stops are located within walking distance of The Max, including stops for the 31 (Mack), 42 (Mid-City loop), 16 (Dexter), and 23 (Hamilton) routes. 

Several SMART bus stops are also located nearby, including stops for the 445, 450, 460, 461, 462, 465, and 610 routes. Use the SMART route map for more details.

Midtown Detroit is bike-friendly and has dedicated bike lanes on many streets near The Max. A bike rack is located on the 1st floor of the DSO Parking Deck and we’re planning to install more soon!

Detroit’s bike share system, MoGo, has several stations located within a few blocks of The Max. The closest is at Mack Avenue and John R Street near Whole Foods Market; use the MoGo website or app for a system map and more information.
