Join the DSO for a Juneteenth celebration! Juneteenth's beginning dates back to June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of the Civil War and that enslaved African Americans in Texas were free. Now a federal holiday, it is often marked with community gatherings and celebrations of African American culture.

On this program, Assistant Conductor Na'Zir McFadden will lead the DSO in a celebratory and reflective program featuring music by African American composers, joined by special musical guests from Word of Faith and Perfecting Church. Come early for a wide variety of hands-on activities for the entire family!

This is a free performance and tickets are not required.
