MIXED CULTURES OF EASTERN EUROPE
MIXED CULTURES OF EASTERN EUROPE
Tuesday, May 24, 2022—7:00pm
At Cass United Methodist Church
There is a rich mixture of cultures and subcultures in Eastern Europe. Classical composers were constantly tapping into the rugged worlds of Gypsy and folk music, producing works that were dramatic and full of life. The composer Theodor Grigoriu retells a story set along the Argeș River in Romania, with music full of lush harmonies and fairytale motifs, set for string quartet. This concert also features a premiere of a string quartet by DSO cellist Jeremy Crosmer.
To protect the health and well-being of its patrons, musicians, and staff due to the ongoing pandemic, the DSO has implemented new safety policies including mask and COVID-19 vaccine or test requirements and contactless e-ticketing. Visit dso.org/yourvisit for more information.
