Join the Kris Johnson Group for a fun morning of music where you and your kids can learn about the foundation of Detroit music: GROOVE. From swing and blues to Motown and hip-hop, “What Is a Groove?” will get the audience to feel the beat in a whole new way. Led by trumpeter Kris Johnson, this presentation will introduce you to the role of various instruments in a band and how they work together to make music.

Let your imagination run wild at Super Saturdays with special pre-concert activities, including instrument tryout stations and arts and crafts. Pre-concert activities start at 9:30 AM and take place throughout the William Davidson Atrium.

This performance is only available as part of a 2020-2021 Family Series subscription package. Subscribe today at dso.org/family.
