The Diving Bell’s distinctive flavor of alternative folk is marked by lush, layered vocal arrangements and ambitious storytelling. Steve and Clare Hendershot trade melodies, supported by soaring harmony and pulsing rhythm, while telling soulful, quirky tales that probe the ambitions and frustrations of the soul through the lens of an 1800s submarine explorer, a failed emperor and a romantic retreat in a highway median. The Diving Bell performs throughout the Great Lakes and has been featured on WGN Radio and AmericanSongwriter.com.
