Douglas Boyd, conductor  Bio

Douglas Boyd is currently the Chief Conductor of the Musikkollegium Winterthur in Switzerland. Formerly, he held the positions of Music Director of Manchester Camerata, Principal Guest Conductor of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Partner of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra , and Principal Guest Conductor of the City of London Sinfonia. Boyd has also appeared with major orchestras throughout the world, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne, Swedish Chamber Orchestra, and several others. Boyd has been noted for his “instinctively Mozartian conducting.”

Baiba Skride, violin   Bio

Baiba Skride, a Latvian native, was born into a musical family in Riga where she first began her studies. In 1995, Skride was accepted into the Conservatory of Music and Theatre in Rostock, and subsequently won the First Prize of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2001. Skride has since appeared with prestigious orchestras such as the Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunk, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Orchestre de Paris, Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony. Her US appearances include the Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnatti Symphony Orchestra. Skride currently plays the Stradivarius ‘’Ex Baron Feilitzsch’’ violin (1734) on loan.
