Concert Description

Join us in celebrating Charles Burke’s remarkable 15-year tenure with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Youth Ensembles program! The evening will begin in Orchestra Hall at 6:00 p.m. with a pre-concert presentation showcasing our Civic Chamber Ensembles. Maestro Burke’s final concert as conductor of the Civic Orchestra will contain some of his favorite selections, such as Mikhail Glinka’s Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Combined with the Civic Wind Ensemble’s breathtaking performance honoring American popular culture, this is a concert you will not want to miss!
