SUPER SATURDAYS are an engaging musical experience for the whole family! Start the day with the Tiny Tots concert in the Cube, followed by engaging activities on all three levels of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center.
The day culminates with a full orchestra concert for families in Orchestra Hall.

Tiny Tots (ages 2 - 6)

Hear fun, imaginative, and interactive performances designed for children ages 2-6. Enjoy up-close and personal performances in the DSO's Cube as audiences sing, dance, and enjoy a morning full of musical fun—all before naptime!

Young People's Family Concerts (ages 6+)

Young People's Family Concerts are an exciting introduction to classical music that often include dance, theater, storytelling and video. Get to know the DSO and discover all the orchestra can do! Young People's Concerts have introduced generations of children to classical music—a friendship that lasts a lifetime.

What will you be for Halloween? A ghost? A Disney princess? Maybe a Jedi, Superman, or Harry Potter? Celebrate the scariest holiday of all with music from your favorite Hollywood hits, plus our annual costume contest and other "spooktacular" pre-concert activities!

Jazz, Wiggle, and Giggle is a fun and exciting concert that includes lots of singing, dancing and a chance to jam with the band! There is lots of room for audience participation, so bring your singing voices and your dancing shoes!

Peter and the Wolf

Brought to life by the energetic and engaging Michael Boudewyns, Peter and the Wolf offers an ideal way for children to learn the instruments of the orchestra. Prokofiev's treasured musical tale will have your children on the edge of their seats. "Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf?"

The Conductor's Spellbook

During a field trip to the Detroit Symphony, young Tony Stradivarius finds a magical book of spells and uses it to control the orchestra. Narrated by composer Paul Dooley, The Conductor's Spellbook is an exciting and interactive new work that teaches about the instruments of the orchestra and even conducting!

Gemini Presents Good Mischief

Twin-brother musicians Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits feature rousing sing-alongs, hand motion tunes, and sparkling original songs about the everyday experiences of childhood and growing up. Kids and adults will love this dynamic show!

Mozart's Magnificent Voyage

Travel with Mozart's young son Karl as a magic chest reveals an incredible journey back in time to Mozart's childhood. This Classical Kids Live! theatrical production features 23 excerpts of the master’s music, including themes from Mozart’s operas The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute.
