Ford Freedom Awards with a special performance by Eric Benét

The 2013 Ford Freedom Awards honor "Quiet Heroes," people who, with much humility (and without fanfare), have worked for the cause of African-American advancement. Special performance by Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter Eric Benét.

$40 -- Awards Show (Reception/Award Presentations/Concert)
$75 -- VIP Experience (Awards Show Package PLUS Afterglow and Photo Op w/ Award Recipients and Eric Benét)

Award recipients:

Mrs. Johnnie R. Carr, who joined childhood friend Rosa Parks in organizing the historic Montgomery Bus Boycott and was a civil rights activist until her death at 97.

Congressman John Lewis, who dedicated his life to protecting human rights, securing civil liberties, and building what he calls "The Beloved Community" in America.

Viola Liuzzo, a Michigander who was murdered by the Klu Klux Klan in 1965 for helping Blacks register to vote.

The Ford Freedom Award Program is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
