Concerts for Children & Families

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra provides a number of concert experiences designed to enchant and entertain young audiences and families alike.


Super Saturdays

Spend the afternoon at Orchestra Hall! Super Saturdays offer a number of activities for the whole family, including instrument petting zoos, arts and crafts, face painting, and the opportunity to meet members of the DSO. Super Saturdays also features two concerts designed for children and toddlers


Tiny Tots

Hear fun, imaginative and interactive performances designed for children age 0-6. Enjoy up-close and personal performances in the DSO's Music Box. Sing along, dance, and enjoy a morning full of fun...all before naptime!


Young People's Concerts

Young People's Concerts are invigorating and exciting introductions to classical music, often including dance, theater, storytelling, and video technology. Get to know the DSO and discover all that the orchestra can do! Young People's Concerts have introduced generations of children to classical music, a friendship that lasts a lifetime.


Civic Family Experience

Civic Family Experience Concerts offer a festival atmosphere on Sunday afternoons three times a year with different Civic Youth Ensembles performing at staggered starting times. With one ticket, people can experience a variety of classical, chamber, and jazz concerts. Stroll each venue to hear the very best young performers in a festival concert experience!
